Michael F. Connolly

Owner, Lead Attorney

BIO

Michael Connolly is not your typical lawyer.  Michael started working as a roofer at 18 years of age and continued in that profession until he was 39 years old.  At 39 years of age he fell off a roof and was no longer able to work as a roofer.

Michael found himself unable to continue working as a roofer.  With a family to support he had some hard decisions to make.  Having always been intrigued by the law he decided to pursue a career in the law.  He decided to attend Dundalk Community College to obtain a Paralegal Degree.  While at DCC Michael excelled in the academic setting and was soon awarded a full scholarship to attend a 4 years institution to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree.

Michael graduated from DCC with honors in May of 2008 and enrolled at the University Of Baltimore School Of Liberal Arts.  Once again Michael excelled at UB.  He held office in the Student Senate as well as many other student organizations.  In 1999 Michael received the prestigious President’s Award from the University of Baltimore for his service to the university and the community.

Somewhere during his last year at UB Michael decided to attend law school.  He applied, and was accepted, to the University Of Baltimore School Of Law.  In May of 2000 he graduated, magna cum laude, with a BA in jurisprudence.  In the fall of that year he began law school.  In May of 2004 Michael graduated from the UB School of Law and decided to take a one year hiatus before taking the Maryland State Bar Exam.

Michael took the Bar Exam in 2005 and passed it on his first effort.  However, his journey had just begun.  Due to Michael’s history he had to convince the Maryland Court of Appeals that he was of the requisite character to practice law in the State of Maryland.  Michael went through a grueling series of hearings before the Court of Appeals finally decided he was fit to become an attorney.  On June 11, 2006 Michael was sworn into the Maryland State Bar.

On a more personal note Michael is an avid motorcyclist and rides his Harley Davidsons as often as he possibly can. He is a grandfather 8 times over and loves spending time with his family.

In 2010 Michael received the 2010 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from the Baltimore County Bar Association.  Michael stated that he does pro bono work because he feels so grateful for what he has been able to accomplish that he needs to give something back to the community.

Born and raised in Dundalk Michael has created a Law Firm committed to giving back to the community by providing affordable and personal legal representation. Michael practices in family law, traffic, criminal law, personal injury, motorcycle and automobile accidents, worker compensation, landlord tenant, adoption and civil litigation
